The Doctors Te Whare Hapara Medical Centre

Welcome to our practice

We are open for business but things are a little different, wherever possible we encourage our patients to have a telephone or video consult as this is just one way we can help prevent the transmission of Covid and protect those most vulnerable in our community.  When you phone, please don't be offended when Reception ask if you can be attended to via a phone or video (a "virtual") consult, as we are attending to the majority of our patients in this way. This is just like a normal visit, you have your clinician's 100% attention and can talk about what is going on for you, they can still do any required referrals, send out forms directly to the lab for tests and scripts go directly to your preferred pharmacy. We are only seeing Urgent or Acute cases in the clinic or if there is an injury or physical ailment you need to show the clinician. These appointments are charged at our usual costs, and if the clinician tries calling multiple times and the call isn't picked up then "Did not attend" charges will be applied.

If you do need to come into the clinic everyone over the age of 9 years needs to wear a mask - this is a mandatory requirement, but if you have a cough, cold, sore throat or runny nose you cannot come inside the main building, you will require a Cabin Appointment and these run Monday to Friday morning for all patients who have cold or flu-like symptoms.  These appointments are booked via reception.

At The Doctors Te Whare Hāpara we have a friendly and dedicated team of medical professionals with a wide range of skills, experience and professional interests. There have been a few changes in our team so we want you to get to know us a little better.  This great team provides consistent high quality general practice services to all our valued patients.

All of our GP team are NZ registered with full qualifications, plus we have new GPs with international experience joining us. This enables us to provide a greater range of treatments and service when you visit. Each of our doctors has special areas of interest and expertise, so it will be easier for your doctor to get extra information and advice for you when you need it.
