The Doctors Greenlane is completely new which means all equipment and facilities are the latest modern technology. We provide all standard family general practice and walk-in services, sought after specialist services and surgeries, along with Vitamin C Infusions (IVC).

We are providing face-to-face consults - all vaccinated and unvaccinated patients please scan in and wear a mask at all times in our practice. Phone 09 553 6666  to book appointments. If you have any Covid symptoms phone us when you arrive, stay outside and wait for further instructions.

We’re providing our service in a new way to ensure you and your whanau remain safe through COVID-19. When you phone or visit the clinic we'll ask if you have any cough, cold, or flu-like symptoms or if you're concerned about Covid-19. This doesn't mean we think you have coronavirus, it's our part in helping keep our community safe and healthy. 

We do Covid-19 testing and our practice is safe to visit

Safety is our priority. We do Covid-19 testing in your car where possible or in an isolation room if an assessment is required. This means there's no additional risk to you when you visit for other medical issues. We have strict infection prevention standards in place.

Depending on your personal needs, your GP will advise the length of your initial consult and during that first visit if any blood tests are required before treatment. IVC treatments can take between 15 minutes and up to 2 hours.

*A magnesium or vitamin B dose must be given in addition to a vitamin C infusion

  • Dr Satyanarayan Shanbhag

    Dr Satyanarayan Shanbhag

    BSc, MBBS, MRCS, PhD

    Doctor Satya studied medicine in India and then migrated to England to pursue Surgery. He trained with the Royal College of Surgeons of England and worked in General and Vascular Surgery. He moved to New Zealand in 2007 to have a better family life here rather in the UK. He variously trained in General Surgery, Urology, Vascular Surgery and later gravitated towards Cardiothoracic Surgery after his PhD in 2013. During his PhD, he secured more than 2 million dollars towards his research grant and his research was highlighted in TED talks. He gained honorary lectureship for teaching final year medical students and also as one of the examiners. During his Cardiothoracic training he won many prestigious awards from College of Cardiac Surgeons at Tongariro meetings in 2014, 2015 and 2017. He was also invited as a guest speaker to talk on cardiac surgery at Royal College of Surgeons meeting in Adelaide in 2017.

    During his career Dr Satya has performed many bowel resections, laparoscopic gall bladder and appendicectomies, major leg amputations, vascular grafts, heart and lung operations and also plastic surgeries. Dr Satya is a WDHB approved GP Surgeon for providing skin lesion services at present. Currently Dr Satya is performing and offering operations on lumps and bumps including the breast, haemorrhoid (piles) banding (including sigmoidoscopy), circumcisions, vasectomies (no scalpel and minimally invasive), frenulemectomies and multitude of plastic surgical procedures (simple and complex flaps, skin grafts).  

    Apart from surgery, Satya is a very keen biker and exercise freak. His hobbies include medical illustration and he writes and draws for prestigious medical journals. To book an appointment with Dr Satya please phone reception.

  • Dr Joanne Gao

    Dr Joanne Gao

    MB ChB Urgent Care Registrar

    Dr Joanne Gao graduated from the University of Auckland in 2013. She has spent many years working around the hospitals in New Zealand in various specialities, including one year training in Internal Medicine. She is currently a member of the Royal New Zealand College of Urgent Care. Her main interest is managing urgent medicine and accidents. Dr Gao can speak two languages, English and Cantonese.  

  • Dr Gary Wu

    Dr Gary Wu

    MB ChB MRNZCGP - GP, Director

    Dr Wu graduated from the University of Otago in 2003. He completed his GP registrar training in Hamilton/Te Awamutu and passed primary membership exam for the Royal NZ College of GPs in 2006.

    Before starting his general practice career, he worked for a year in both Dunedin Public Hospital and Royal Price Alfred Hospital in Sydney as a resident doctor and emergency department doctor. Dr Gary Wu has special interests in minor surgery, pediatric health, chronic conditions and health/wellbeing promotion. He moved to New Zealand with his family when he was 15. He speaks four languages which include English, Mandarin, and two other dialects.

    Dr Wu is actively involved in our supporting our community by volunteering to provide health education sessions - presenting on topics such as cardio-vascular disease.
